Luis Suárez

Luis Suárez is a Uruguayan football player. He was born on January 24, 1987. Currently he is playing for the Barcelona FC and Uruguayan national team (on a striker position). Luis is known as one of the best strikers in the world. In 2014 he moved to Barcelona, according to Barcelona for £65 million. Some newsletter announced that the actual price of his fee is £75 million! If this is true price, he is one of the most expensive players in football history!

Luis started his career in 2003, playing for Nacional. Three years later, in 2006, he moved to Groningen, but next year, 2007 he moved to Ajax. In 2008 he was named as the Ajax player of the year. In 2010 he scored his 100th goal for this team. After that season, Luis moved to Liverpool (fee was £28.8 million). While playing for this club, he won the Football League Cup, PFA Players' Player of the Year award and FWA Footballer of the Year.

His first representation of the Uruguay was in 2007, U 20 World Cup. He played again, in the 2010 World Cup, where he had an important role in winning fourth place for Uruguay, and scoring three goals. At 2011 Copa América, his country won this championship for the 15th time, making this a country record. Luis scored 4 goals for Uruguay, and he was named as the Player of the Tournament.

Suárez is involved in several controversies. He has bitten three players, during football matches and was accused for goal line handball in 2010 World Cup. His latest accusation was of racially abusing Patrice Evra. Luis doesn’t admit this accusation!
