FIFA Allows Arsenal’s Zelalem to Play for US Men’s Team

Gedion Zelalem, the renowned Arsenal’s midfielder has been officially authorized by FIFA to play for USA men’s national team. He has also been included to the team for the Under-20 World Cup going to be held next month.
The USF (USA Soccer Federation) made the official statement on Wednesday. Moreover, FIFA’s official decision makes the famous 18-year-old eligible for the prestigious Concacaf Gold Cup in this summer and the famous Under-23 national team that would go to Olympic Games thoroughly qualifying in the month of October.

Zelalem who was born in country Germany to a local Ethiopian parent used to live in Maryland for at least six years before officially joining Arsenal’s academy at the age of 18. Zelalem has also appeared twice for prestigious Gunners and both times as a local second-half substitute especially against Coventry in the Champions League on 9th of December 2014, and against FA Cup on 24th of June 2014.

He obtained USA citizenship in the month of December, and then USSF officially applied to renowned FIFA to make him thoroughly eligible for US national team management.

The 18-year-old mid-fielder has now been officially authorized by FIFA to play in Under-20 World Cup for United States of America. According to David Hytner, Zelalem could be the next Fabregas.
He is considered as the most potential player who is capable of changing the entire game alone. It, without any doubt, is the key reason behind is the selection in US national team to participate in prestigious Under-20 World Cup.
