Andy Murray is a leading professional tennis player is a Scot who plays for Great Britain and currently ranked number 2 in the world. He has strong defensive skills and his magnificent performance and stamina brought the championship cup to Great Britain. He played his 104th match in 2015 in which he beat David Goffin of Belgium using his great defensive skills.

On Sunday, March 6, 2016 in Birmingham, England, Andy Murray beat Kei Nishikori of Japan in a gruelling battle that lasted almost 5 hours.

 In July, 2016, Andy is schedule to take on Novak Djokovic in Belgrade, Serbia in a quarter-final competition where he will defend the Davis Cup he won in 2015. On January 31, 2016, Djokovic beat Murray in the Australian Open Final in 3 straight set: 6-1, 7-5, and 7-6. This was the 11th Grand Slam for Djokovic. Their next competition will be a clash of wills.

Murray has a team building attitude towards his team members and his Captain. According to him, winning the Davis cup for Great Britain not only reflects his own efforts, but it is due to team work.

Jamie Murray is Andy Murray’s brother who has supported Andy throughout his career. When Jamie had to step back because of a personal injury, Andy missed his strong support.

David Goffin has also played a role in the Andy’s career and his performance. In an interview, Andy said that Goffin was not only his colleague, but he is a good friend.
