Sandrine Gruda

Sandrine Gruda was born on 25 June, 1987. She is a professional French basketball player, 1.93 meter height and 84 kg weight. She is a daughter of Ulysse Gruda. Sandrine played for the French club Union Sportive Valenciennes Olympic, for two years, before she moved to the WNBA. She started playing basketball on senior level in 2002 and became professional in 2005. In 2006, she was named as the best European young women athlete!

Sandrine was drafted by the Connecticut Sun in the 2007 WNBA draft, but she officially joined the team in the 2008 season. Before that, she was trained by the Mike Thibault. She is one of the best shot-blockers in the world. After the 2010 season she moved to Los Angeles Sparks. Currently, she plays the center position in the WNBA and in UMMC Ekaterinburg in the Russian Superleague. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she played the central position for the French Olympic team.

She is one of the highest awarded female basketball players. In 2005 she was named a FIBA Europe Best Center of the European Championship for Youth. In 2006 she was named for MVP Best French Player and Best Rookie of the French Championship and FIBA Europe Young Women’s Player of the Year. In 2007, she was elected for, MVP Best French Player and Best Rookie of the French Championship, FIBA MVP World Championship for Youth and FIBA Euroleague All-Star. In 2009, she was elected for, FIBA Europe Player of the Year FIBA Europe Best Center of the European Championship. Her statistics data is: 12.3 points per a game, 0.9 assists per game and 6.3 rebounds in each game.
